Lex is turning four on Wednesday - time goes so quickly. The cutie is still living up to his name - "word man" - he loves reading and writing, even in vermicelli. After memorizing The Cat in the Hat Comes Back, he asked for a Dr. Seuss birthday party. He's also asked for a trumpet, but I hope he'll be happy with his first bicycle instead. Here are a few cute things he's said lately:
Taye screamed while playing with Lex and I told him, "Tayedon, you better learn to talk soon so you can tell me what happened." Lex assisted, "Taye, can you say, ‘Lex took something’?"
After a grueling week of sickness, Lex asked me, "Mom, do you have enough energy to read all these books?”
Lex observed, “Taye, if you drink too much you’ll get a drinkache.”
Taye climbed into Lex's bed again when he was supposed to be sleeping (it's where they read a book and cuddle with daddy before bed), and we hear, "I know you love me Taye, but you have to sleep in your bed."
I saw Lex watching Elliana on our drive to preschool and asked if she was okay. I wish I could express the tone in his voice when he said, "Mom, she's so cute and so little."
While discussing his upcoming birthday, I asked Lex if he wanted me to make a cake for him as a surprise or if he wanted to help. He answered, “I want to help you make it, but you should put on the sprinkles for a surprise, but I can put on the candles, but you should light them because it’s dangerous.”
Putting away the dominos, Lex explained, “Taye, I’m going to show you how to organize. Do you want me to show you how to organize? How we organize is we put everything in the same direction.”
Taye was asleep in the car and Lex asked a little loudly for a ricecake and woke him up. Taye screamed (yes, he's doing that a lot lately) for 10 minutes and when he calmed down, Lex quietly said, “Taye, I’m really sorry. I just wanted a rice cake.
And my favorite phrase: "The biggest thing you never saw."
