Chukka Zipline, Jamaica

By far, the highlight of our trip was our adventure on the zip line.

Phase 1: we met our driver – a sweet guy who said it was his dream to visit the huge mountain with faces that he saw on TV  (Mount Rushmore); then a stop for Jerk Chicken at the horse stables.

Phase 2: one crazy drive up an unmaintained mountain road with a vertical drop to the right over 100 feet – the bus in front of us had to back up 50 yards so we could squeeze past (did you notice the mirror ornament).

Phase 3: getting on our equipment as we watched the rain and mangoes fall.

Phase 4: a slippery trek into the rainforest.

Phase 5: zip down a line (freshly dampened by rain) 45 feet above the forest floor – 9 traverses total, one a straight drop, another 660 feet long.

Phase 6: a beautiful walk along the river with a closer look at the flowers, trees, birds, and butterflies through Cranbrook forest.

Phase 7: speed back to the ship hoping that since we booked this excursion with Princess, they’ll be waiting for us (they were supposed to set sail 30 minutes before we arrived).
