It’s silly, I know, but I’ve always regretted that we didn’t take several feet out of the living room or move the back patio over to make more space in the mudroom; when you build your own house, you are a little pickier about the end results. I had an idea a few months ago that could actually help make the room feel bigger without being too much trouble: if we just took out one small wall (just 2 feet wide) that was hiding an oversized storage closet. I was surprised and excited, as were the kids, when we heard Michael tearing down the wall Memorial Day weekend. Naturally, the project took longer than we expected (do you know how much surface area is on those shelves!), but I‘m thrilled with the results. It’s beautiful, but I hope most of all that we can utilize the space better and keep ourselves organized.
Michael built this side several years ago, but this side is all new.
