Apparently Lex knows more about college than I had thought. He was riding his bike to "college" (our front porch) and I asked him which college he was going to - UNC, NC State, or Duke. He said, "Duke, because they have the yummiest drinks."
Lex was reading a travel book while I was making dinner and he said, "Okay, we're on the United States Facts." I answered, "Okay, tell me one." I wish I could get across his tone of voice when he replied, "Well first I need to know what a facts is!"

We're watching workers grading for a new house across the street and Lex observed, "They're all men because girls don't work with big machines like that because girls don't like loud noises. That's what dad said. Like the machines in the garage are loud and they might scare Elli. And if I yell then it scares Elliana too and she starts to cry."
