Lexander's Observations

When Lex came with us to meet one of the midwives we were interviewing, we told him we were going to meet a lady who delivers babies. He responded, "but babies don't live in boxes." I told him he was right, she really helps a mommy who has a baby in her belly. Naturally, he wanted to know how people put a baby in it's mommy's belly.

Since I have gestational diabetes again, I'm watching my carbohydrate intake. Lex wanted to have pasta for dinner and I said I was on a diet. He looked at me and said, "but you're not dying!" It made me think a little about the meaning of the word:)

Potty training has been quite an experience. Lex really got the hang of it after going with daddy in a few public restrooms. One such time, the restaurant roared with laughter when he came out proclaiming to Nana and Papa quite loudly, "I went potty on the toilet!"
Now we're just working on making it into the toilet - his aim is getting better, but one time he completely forgot to open the lid!

I told Lex I would help him in a minute, but was a little lightheaded and needed to eat some cereal first. He said, "Cereal doesn't go to your head!" which lead to a conversation about energy, blood, the heart, veins, and the brain. When he recounted all of his new wisdom to daddy that night, the look on Michael's face was priceless.
